Quality Assurance of complex financial applications:
- verification of financial calculations, e.g. pricing and risk figures for a wide range of financial instruments;
- business logic validation for front office and middle office systems;
- black-box testing to verify assumptions underlying a solution implementation or if complete and precise documentation doesn’t exist.
Business Analysis and Consulting in modeling and financial engineering:
- analysis of needs and requirements on business and functional levels;
- adapting a general test strategy to customer needs in order to cover priority areas or areas of extensive use;
- validation of business rules and compliance against regulatory requirements underlying the design of a solution;
- verification formulae and assumptions underlying third party solutions.
For example, a financial institution, in order to deal with a new type of OTC contracts regulated by a corresponding master agreement, may need help with testing the financial analytics features of its front office system, integration with back office, collateral management and legal and compliance systems.
User Acceptance Testing of financial applications (risk management tools, deal capturing and position-keeping applications, pricing tools, etc):
- evaluation of UAT business requirements to produce a set of logically structured test case packages; such test cases can validate the most essential business operations and calculations as well as risky functional areas of financial applications;
- preparation of UAT scenarios, test data, validation of environment setup;
- assistance with introducing business users to the UAT process;
- UAT support, such as issues investigation and help with their resolution.
